i was wondering if i bought a piece of jewelry for someone around how much would it cost to get their first and last name (about 13 letters) engraved in it?

and where could i go to get this sort of thing done?

Well, my job is engraving on brass and sterling silver rings. It just really depends on the type of metal you want it engraved on. For example, for 13 letters on sterling silver it would cost about 30 bucks and on brass, about 20 bucks at some places.
